Why! Why do these events always happen when I am working? Wish I could be there John!

No problem Rob. if you weren't working, you wouldn't be able to pick up those sweet CCM rides that you show us every so often.

I think I could sacrifice the hunt for a day if I were off, hahaha!

Great time at the Royal Canadian Curling Club last night. Met a lot of wonderful people. Shared a ton of stories about bicycles, skates and CCM.

The Royal Canadian Curling Club was once home to the Royal Canadian Bicycle Club which in the 1890s and beyond was one of Canada's  premiere bicycle clubs often winning the prestigious 20-mile Dunlop Trophy Race.

Having won the race in back-to-back years (1925 - 26, I believe) the Royal Canadians got to keep the original trophy which is still housed at the club. There is no other way to describe the trophy other than breathtaking. This photo does not do it justice in terms of ssize or detail. It's got to be over 6 feet high and 4 feet wide. I thought I heard someone say it was one of the largest trophies in the world.

Thanks to Leslie, Brian and Barry from the curling club and Gerald and Robert and the folks from the Riverdale Historical Society for hosting last night. It was great fun for sure!
