I believe it to be a CCM "Mistral" circa 1972 or 1973.  3 main tubes are Reynolds 531.

Assembled many of them while working in a bike shop during high school days.

Thanks so much. Thats it. If i wanted a new rear wheel what size or brand would i look for? Do you remember?

That would be a 27" wheel, or 630 mm bead with a 120 mm wide rear hub.

As noted, the bicycle is a CCM Mistral, the main tubes are Reynolds 531 plain gauge mated to hi-tensile stteel stays and forks and the wheel size is 27" (630mm bead seat diameter). This one is 1973-1974. There was no Mistral in 1972 and the head badge was different that year. The front and rear derailleurs have been replaced with better Shimano models but it still has the OEM Simplex Prestige shift levers. The rear wheel has also been replaced, this time with a lower grade unit having nutted axles and steel rims. The brakset, headset, crankset, pedals and saddle are OEM.
