Unknown make

Goodday all. I have had this bike stored in my "Stash" for a few years & have just taken a better look at it. I'm guessing W.W.2 era??? it has no holes for a badge, wood pedal bars & "reclaim Dominion Peerless tires. Thr pin striping on Wheels & frame is in good condition--see photos-it will need a good cleanup. Any help appreciated Larry

Larry:  It appears to be a "Frankenbike"  Heres my guess:

The frame appears to be CCM built; if so, the letter "D" would indicate it was made in 1940.  The absence of badge holes could indicate the bike was designated as a War Grade bike and as such would have had a decal vice a metal badge.  The seat post is not CCM.  The colour combination is correct for the War Grades.

The stem is certainly the same as used on pre war Rollfasts

The crankset is the same as on my post war SCPs, a CCM owned co (with which you have experience), I have also seen this crank wheel on American bikes

What is the front hub?  I presume from the brake arm that the rear hub is ND, perhaps a Model D.  Although US manufactured, CCM distributed ND hubs, etc as options.

That would be the best I can put forward now, it is based on conjecture and real evidence/info available to me at this time.  Cheers

Larry:  What is the bike next this one??, I never paid attention to it when I initially looked at the pic.  From what I can see, it has the same stem,  appears to have the same frame, AND it has a headbadge (???) and seat tube decal.....can't see the crank.

Your answer may be in the  "pile",  much the same as another of our collector community, who recently was about to embark on the refurbishing of a "Road Racer" which had been, for years, in his "pile" of to do projects.  To his delight, on closer exam, it's a "Flyer".

So, like him,  a pleasant surprise ( identification) may be right there at home.

For me the bike appears be canadian made. I might be wrong but seems like the seat stays are usually straight on Canadian bikes where they are arched on English ones. I agree that the chainring looks like it's from another bike. Maybe a roll fast.
