Looking to date 1930’s? Women’s CCM

I picked this up for $50, I found out that it was sold in department stores/ general stores as a lower grade model. It has the name "sterling" on the head badge. ( I know my picture isn't great). The serial number doesn't seem to line up with the ccm serial numbers so it leaves me with some confusion. Any help with info on the bike or finding a manufacturer date would be a great help! Thanks for looking

Probably around 1941, the chain guard is much newer and not original.

I agree, it's likely 1940-1941. I suspect they just stamped the "D" in the wrong position.

Another CCM manufactured Sterling and some brand history can be found here: http://www.vintageccm.com/content/ccm-sterling#comment-6632
