Sprocket for 1942 CCM Coaster Brake

Hello,

I overhauled the coaster brake on my 1942 Rambler yesteday. Does anyone know what years these coaster brakes were made? Does the number that comes after CCM on some of the parts indicate the year that the part was made? The sprocket is very worn. Does anyone have NOS or very good use ones for sale? Did they come with different numbers of teeth?  I have some NOS CCM coaster brake parts to sell or trade.

Thanks,

Chris

How many  sprocket teeth do you need or want?  Will be at Jamies meet next weekend might have what you want also some tires that fit CCM balloon that you where looking for.

Dave

there were some NOS ones with various teeth counts on Ebay the last time I checked for CCM stuff; you might have luck there... ;)

Fat Tire Trader.

I will try and send an attachment from CCM Care and Operation of your Bicycle handbook 1940-41 pages 6 and 7

Page 6 shows the coaster brake parts with the part numbers, both wedges are #47, expanding drum #48 etc..

Page 7 describes grease or lubricant and the Table of Gears.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Max! Its especially helpful to see what size sprockets were available. I finished overhauling the bike last night, put on new tires and took it fir a short test ride. It rides really nice even with the worn rear sprocket. The rear sprocket has 18 teeth. I didn't realize that different size front sprockets were made. I'll count the front sprocket teeth and ride the bike some and think about gearing before I replace the sprocket. Unfortunately, I won't be at the James meet. I'm in California. I'll get back on here as soon as I know what sprockets I want. I'm also looking for truss rods for the Rambler and my Red Bird.

Thanks!

Chris

Hey guys,

Does anyone have more of that "CCM Care and Operation of your Bicycle handbook 1940-1941?"  The page that MaxWedge posted is wonderful.  I am looking at tearing down my new 1940 Motorbike, and the more schematics and parts lists the better.  I've repaired quite a few machines in the past, but never a bicycle, so I'm going to need all the help I can get.

You can see my project here: http://www.vintageccm.com/content/1940-ccm-motorbike-rebuild
