I had a few CCM's growing up, spent loads of time on my bike, and now that I have more or less matured and sort of grown-up it's time to get back on the bike. I bought a 1968 GT-101 ladies version, serial number A141090. It was in pretty rough shape when I bought it so I've stripped it to bare metal (No yelling!) It had 3 different coats of paint on it and lots of surface rust... It also, and this is my favourite bit, came with the deep wrought iron grocery delivery basket.. So I now have a blank canvas to work on. I'm keeping it Canadian and doing a Chilly Beach theme. (Again, no yelling please) I had planned to buy a brand new bike (warned the hubby that my price tag was probably going to be about $800) but since I went vintage and it needs work, the wheels have to be re-spoked, and new tires, grips, paint, fun stuff... there may be a bit leftover to get him some beer. I also picked up a men's Encore for $45 which I plan to do up for him. He currently rides a '96 CCM mountain bike, so he needs a good old bike too. I also have a 1965 CCM Imperial Mk II. that I stripped down, painted and added a couple crates (front & back) I ride it most of the time for errands and to work.
