They look like mid 70's CCM Elites.
First seen in 1974, maybe 1973. I'm still looking for a 1973 catalog...... hint, hint. :-)
Although it is not seen in my 1977 catalogs, the women's model that you have appears to have the metal headbadge similar to the bikes in my 1977 catalogs.
I'm not sure if the 1976 catalog shows bikes with the same headbadge. That's the other catalog I need to fill the gaps. .... hint, hint. :-)
In near mint condition, I'd be asking $200 each for them. I'd have to say they are not highly collectable, but an easy sell to a young urban couple.
I'd be interested in knowing the serial numbers on these two bikes.
Thanks ccmuclebikes and bikedenis. The woman who sent me the photo said the bikes were in her daughter's basement so she wasn't able to give me the serial numbers, but if I get them I will post them.

I have a stamp headbadge not a metal headbadge and on the rear hub 1974 and all my bike is original... anyway no problem for a 1978 because the bike is in a perfect shape.:) so, if my bike is a 1978.......:)

I can't help you but I have a sunsport for men , same color but a three speed and the year is 1974

I thought the Sun Sports were the slightly later versions of the same bikes.
The 1974 and 1975 catalogs define the brown 5 speeds as Elites.
What is the serial number on your Sun Sport?

I think that Bxxxxxx serial number would make your Sun Sport a 1978.
I have some 1977 bikes (with the metal headbadges) that are all Axxxxxx bikes.
