CCM Cleveland

Bought this bicycle at an auction a couple of months ago. Haven't had a chance to clean it up yet. The head badge says it's a Cleveland 458. It's all original with wooden rims and wooden handle grips and came with the original bell, tool pouch and a carbide light. The leather seat is marked C.C.& M. Co. Ltd. as well as Comfort No. 9 + the wheel with wings symbol. The fenders are half-round and the rear hub is marked Sturmey Archer Coaster. The serial number is 55054, but I've not found any date. I assume since it's all painted black including the rims that it was issued during the Frist World War, but that's just an assumption on my part. Anyone any idea how to date it? I am going to post some more pics just as soon as I get a chance.   John

Very cool!  I really want to find a Canadian wood wheeled bike.

yeah I felt pretty lucky to get the bike. I saw it in the listing, but I couldn't go to the auction. So I phoned ahead and left a bid with the auctioneer which is not someting I'd normally do, but I really wanted the bike. He phoned me the next day to say I'd gotten it.
