CCM Flyer

I'm looking for any CCM Flyer bicycles or any parts marked CCM Flyer which should include wheels, hubs, cranks, etc.  With respect to actual bicycle frames they must have enough original paint to see the original decals otherwise there are too many discrepancies between these and other bikes.  Other than this only a physical examination can determine whether they truly are Flyers.  If a bike is in Ontario I certainly would come and look at it to ascertain whether it is an original Flyer.  The one bicycle I am most interested in is any Goold made in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.  Please note Gavin that many of these were exported to places like New Zealand and other parts of the world.  You would think they would be in the city they were made in however this is not the case.  I do have a womans however I really would like to get a mens bike.

Hi

I am new to this site but I must say that it is good to see someone start upa great site  for the CCM collecter. As it has been a long time coming.

I have a 1939 CCM Flyer Frame that I am cleaning up as the paint is original on it. I would say it is a 6 to 6.5 out of 10.

The color of it is a minty powdery green. Not sure of the exact CCM color name, but a very cool vintage color. It has the english Baylis Wylis Crank Cartridge in it which is  blued instead of being plated. You can vaguely see the scallops on the frame, but I look at it as it is a Survivor. As a bicycle is only original once.

I haven`t got the original cottered crank arms for it, but i believe some gentleman on this site with the Red Flyte talking about the crank set not being a tri-plex would be the right crank set for my flyer, if its has cotter pins.

This bike I also believe would have had a odd ball rim 27 X 1 1/4  correct me if I am wrong. Any way`s I am told it is hard to find rubber for this rim.

I haven`t any pictures yet but I will post some when I finish the bike.

I also have a few other assorted CCM Zenith bikes as I have been collecting for about 17years now.

Thanks Real (cruisersbylou)
