Greetings from Newbury, ON

Hello all

My name is Steve Robson. I like cycling of all types but like to see "Made in Canada" on older things likes bikes. I have two vintage CCM bikes at the present time in my collection of bikes I use. The lastest was picked up just a few days ago in a junkyard just north of the house we live in. I took off on a road bike ride and ended up walking home with the newer road bike I was riding plus the early 1960's mens single speed roadster in hand. After a bit of cleaning up, the old guy came back to life! It shows signs of am old bike like cracked tires, rusty spokes and a rusty chain but once working on, it rides almost like new. The chain is past its prime but at least to works for now. The was originally silver but at some point it was repainted red.

I saw the list on a website for early CCM bikes but my bike does not fall into any of the numbers shown. The hole on the numbers I saw was from 1961 to 1968. The serial number on bike is E129597. There is a old Godrerich bike licence from the mid 1960's to the early 1970's on it. It has the number 1946. I am looking for a bit of history on the bike. Any help would be greatly taken in. Here is a link to see some pictures of it. http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/old-ccm-roadster-5382

My other CCM roadster is a womens frame bike but with missing fenders and chain guard. The front tire and rim size is a 26 by 1 3/8th" rather then the 28 by 1.5" it should have. The rear rim is a more modern steel square type design rather then the older ridged design that is found on the new mens bike I have. The serial number on this one is J192169. This bike rides great and is nice to get out every once in a while. Buy the way, this is a great site from what I have seen so far!

Hi Steve. Welcome to the Forum.

I must confess I had to look up where Newbury Ontario was.

Great job on saving the CCM from the junkpile. Thanks for posting the pics. Is that your website?
