Looking for decals - CCM Targa
Hi all,
I'm looking for new decals for a 1975 CCM Targa. Actually if I can find decent artwork I can have the decals made by a friend who's in the decal business. The frame I have was repainted and has no decals at all.
The only artwork I've found so far is this picture for the seat tube decal:

And this picture for the "Targa" on the top tube:

Can someone provide me with more info on this? Or even dimensions for the decals, that would be great.
Cheers.
An effort should be made to duplicate all the CCM decals.
I'm thinking they started putting decals on in the 50s, as that's the earliest one I've seen, in my limited experiance.
Does anyone have pictures of 30s or 40s decals?
There was a fellow nick named ditchpig who was going to duplicate the seat post decal from the 50s, the one that looks like the head badge with ''Made in Canada'' under it..
I wonder what ever happened to that?
I sure could use one for a resto I'm doing.
Seat tube decals were in use from the time CCM started up (Made in Canada with a large Maple Leaf above and other variations as time passed), there were other decals on the down and the top tubes( Road Racer, Flyer from the 20s on, etc), a War time headbadge decal was used on War grade bikes SEE : http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/dobie45/MYLAR%20CCM%20HEAD%20BADGES/ . if anyone is interested in acquiring any of these decals contact me at bmwchev@msn.com (Shameless self-promotion)
You can see an early illustration of the seat tube decal in the 1918 catalogue online..http://archive.org/details/bicycleaccrepair00canauoft
Cheers
On page 6 of that catalogue it shows a maple leaf decal on the seat tube.
That one that should get done.
So does anyone have a good colour shot of that one. If you use a good camera, use the close up setting, and a measurment WxH it's likely we could get that duplicated. The company that used to do all those decals the cops made you buy in the 40, 50 60s still exists in Quebec, by the way
I have a Targa 10. But I don't think it's the same year then yours. Mine as the Targa 10 decal on the down tube. Both are not the best but they are useable I'd say. I can take pictures of it and if they can be use full I can measure them.
My bike decals looks like this bike

Hi,
I have similiar artwork for this. All I have to do is shorten the white slug, duplicated it to the other bands and add text at the top.
That pic doesn't have all the text in French so that would have to be sorted out.
At a consignment store in Guelph, I thought I've seen a Targa bike.
