Mike Barry, Master Builder

Recently I was very honoured to get a call from Mike Barry looking for a couple of copies of the CCM book. Mike, who was a bicycle racer in England in the 1950s, is Canada's most famous bicycle builder. It was as owner of Bicycle Specialties in Toronto that Mike produced his highly sought-after Mariposa line of bicycles. Mike recently retired to spend more time with his family including pro cyclist Michael Barry.

Very cool! I am gonna have to check out that coffee shop :) ............ya know.....for the.....coffee :)  I would love to have the skip tooth CCM chainring on that bike.

John, the CCM books finally made in town here to Texas after making it through two postal systems. Yours on strike, mine not on strike, but hard to tell the difference (Ha Ha). Just wanted to say how wonderful the book is!  Boy, you cover it all...   Russell cars, CCM Skates, and of course the outstanding bicycles.  I grew up on CCM skates here in Dallas (I know, hard to believe) and I never knew that "Tackaberry" was the man who first made the boots. I can't put the thing down!  I will tell all who will hear me how wonderful your book is, although down here at the gates of hell (106 down here today, 41 to ya'll) there are not to many CCM people. So.... for all you folks reading this rambling post if you are interested in CCM I would highly recommend the book!  Thanks again John!
