SOME OF MY BICYCLES - WAYNE

I figure its time to share some of my collection.  I'm in Nova Scotia, have been collecting bikes for about 2 1/2 years.  I have makes from 1890s to the 1970s.  I will add more pix as time goes by.  REQUIREMENTS .  I need tires for my Road Racer 28 X 1 1/4" and a triplex crankset (small dia)

In the background of the first pic are a 1936 CCM motorbike and a matched pair of  1948 SCPs (Standard Cycle Products, Toronto); On the workbench in the 4th pic is a 1938 CCM Road Racer I'm working on.

Here are a few other pix of some other bikes I have:

Wayne: Thanks for the kind word re: the site and for posting the pics. You have some great-looking bikes there. That '52 is in some sweet shape.

I don't think I've ever seen another with the National badge on it. I suspect it's pretty rare. Are you sure of the date on it? The reason I ask is that the plant in Weston wasn't built until 1916.

Thanks again for sharing the photos.

John

John:  The date was on the tag when I bought it from a bicycle dealer, I have not done any research on it other than the rudimentary.   As I understand it, National was the name of of the US conglomerate which Massey et al bought out to end the US encroachment into the Canadian bicycle business, so I assumed it was earlier.  Up until I purchased it, I had not seen any CCM Nationals nor can I find information on them.  Perhaps someone can share any info they may have.  Thanks, I appreciate the observation..  Cheers,  Wayne

Hi, I have what I bealive to be a 1935 Bicycle the head badge reads Standard Cycle Products Toronto. Does anyone have a good source of info on these. It still has origional paint/pinstripes and is in nice shape. If anyone has any info I can send pics.

Thanks

I have four SCPs, 3 are late 40s and the other is 70s.  There isn't much info on them.  Apparently they were bought up by CCM in mid 40s so CCM didn't have to put their name on a cheaper bike. John could confirm this, I believe.   The fellow from whom I got the mens shown here said it was bought new in 1948.  The serial #s do not follow the CCM # chart..send pix bmwchev@msn.com with serial # & type of hubs. http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/dobie45/SCPs%20%20-%20STANDARD%20CYCLE%20PRODUCTS%20TORONTO/
