Where were CCM's sold?

I understand they were sold through CCM dealers back in the day, but I would like to know which countries they were sold in outside of Canada. Thanks!

In his 1947 company history, CCM: The Story of the First 50 Years, Merril Decison states that the company had representatives in 43 countries. However, it;s appears that these sales were of small quantities due to government imposed quotas. John McKenty states in his book, The CCM Story, that CCM's 1950s exports to Britain were restricted to $5,000, despite CCM importing $500,000 worth of British bicycle components.  This is  supported by industry statistics which show Canadian exports of only 13,836 bicycles  for the period 1926-1959. These low figures are even more startling when one considers that 60% of these sales occurred during a three year period, 1946-1948. While the exact nature of this spike is unclear, I suspect that the government temporarily relaxed quotas in order to provide cheap transporation to war torn countries while their domestic bicycle industries rebuilt.

Regardless, foreign lands specifically mentioned with bicycle sales included Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, India and Indonesia. Of course, there was also the UK, as previously mentioned, and the USA. During the early 1970s, CCM launched a national advertising campaign in the USA in an attempt to expand agressively into that market. As a result ,a number of American dealers supplemented their existing bicycle lines with 'The Canadian Schwinn'.
