Wondering if anyone can enlighten me about a possible make and year for this old swoop frame bike? I don't think its a CCM but I don't know enough yet to make a gues other than it says "made in england" on various components. Tires hold air and I can peddle and stop it. I was thinking of wet buffing it wirh 600 grit and clear coat as well as take apart and re lubricate just to have to ride. Seat Scripted with "Made in Persons USA" In my opinion its too nice for yard art. Any thoughts? Suggestions what I should do to the bike?
Would like to know more about this bicycle to perhaps sell
Gentleman hoping to determine year of manufacture for his bike. Serial number is A142018. Anyone take a shot at it?
I have this Acton Vale badge, and didn't know what to make of it until I saw T-Mar's post with a list of Canadian Manufacturers. This company made appearances from 1947-1955 in the government's report on the bicycle industry. I thought Acton Vale was just the company name, but after trying Google Maps I can now say that it's a town as well. It's east of Montreal, in the middle of a triangle between Montreal, Victoriaville, and Sherbrooke.
Attached is a chart compiling all bicycle manufacturers listed in the domestic bicycle industry reports issued annually by the Canadian government for the period of 1927-1959 inlusive. The reports were concerned primarily with economics but did include other statistics such as production volume and number of employees. Before anyone asks, none of the statistics are broken down by mannufacturer, so there is no indication of how many bicycles CCM produced in a given year.
Gentleman looking for any information anyone may be able to provide in regards to this bike model. Thanks,
I picked up a early twenties perfect loop frame which has a very nice set of metal lined wood rims. Eadie coaster rear and ND front bub.
The rims look very rideable. The po respoked the wheels.
Whats the general consensus on riding 100 year old rims? Or should they be kept for show only?
The bike itself is a repaint with no original parts and a damaged bottom bracket
Recommended tire pressure?
Thanks in advance
I thought this would be worth posting since it took me long enough to find.

I hope to find the new owner of this 1890s McCready Ladies bicycle that sold at an online auction this week. I have a Henderson Ladies bike that was built alongside this McCready in the same factory in Goderich, but mine is missing its wheelset. If possible, I'd love to see the McCready in person to look at the hubs.
