Parts needed for Torchy Peden's Flyte

New to this board, but I am in the process of restoring one of Torchy Peden's track bikes circa 1928/30. To make this bike 100% correct, I would need to find a rear hub and a handle bar stem from that vintage or close.

The original hub used in that time was stamped "C.C.M. FLYER" but it will be unlikely that I will find one. If anybody knows were I could locate (close to that vintage) a rear ONE PIECE steel track hub I would love to hear about it. I have added a picture from the front hub so you have a idea of the profile.

My Most Recent Score *Its A Keeper*

To me , this is the 32 Ford of CCM's. Ever since I first layed eyes on one, I knew I would have to have one but they seem to always be way outta my price range. Well it was my time to own one I guess, so here it is in its toughness. Needing full resto but thats ok.   http://s583.photobucket.com/albums/ss271/HotRodRob_2009/CCM%20Flyte/CCM%20Flyte/

2011 Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show

This show was started in 2001 by Jamie McGregor (a member of our site) when he decided to display some of his bicycles for friends at his farm in Brantford. Now ten years later it's grown into the Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show. Well done, Jamie!!!

My Brantford Red Bird

Hi, I am writing from Australia. I have recently aquired a CCM made Brantford Red Bird. CCM was a popular brand here at least until the 20's until Australian produced bicycles (based on English standards) gained wide popularity.

I have dated the bike from local experts to beween 1900 - 1910 however I am keen to hear the opinions from those in it's country of origin.

These images were taken before I dismantled the bike and commenced removing rust etc.

1901 CCM Cleveland

CCM Ranger?

This RANGER badged bike was purchased new at HBC in Winnipeg in the late 30s, in my mind its a CCM built bike but not 100% sure, it looks identical to CCM bikes of the same vintage though, except that the serial number is under the crank. The badge resembles a Meade Ranger badge, but it surely can't be that. Can anyone confirm what exactly I have here?

CCM Cleveland

Bought this bicycle at an auction a couple of months ago. Haven't had a chance to clean it up yet. The head badge says it's a Cleveland 458. It's all original with wooden rims and wooden handle grips and came with the original bell, tool pouch and a carbide light. The leather seat is marked C.C.& M. Co. Ltd. as well as Comfort No. 9 + the wheel with wings symbol. The fenders are half-round and the rear hub is marked Sturmey Archer Coaster. The serial number is 55054, but I've not found any date.

Reason Why

I encourage anyone wishing to learn more about CCM bikes to register on the site and here's why. Since the site has gone up, I've gotten many personal emails form folks wanting more information about a particular bike they have - its age, its value etc. While I've been able to help some, many I have not. I am not an expert on CCM bikes. But there are experts out there. Some are on this site; some are not. Either way, most would see your request and in many cases be able to provide the information you are seeking.

CCM Brand Names

Looking at a 1926 catalogue the other day, I was struck by the different brand names (as opposed to model names) used by CCM over the years.

CCM Flyer

I'm looking for any CCM Flyer bicycles or any parts marked CCM Flyer which should include wheels, hubs, cranks, etc.  With respect to actual bicycle frames they must have enough original paint to see the original decals otherwise there are too many discrepancies between these and other bikes.  Other than this only a physical examination can determine whether they truly are Flyers.  If a bike is in Ontario I certainly would come and look at it to ascertain whether it is an original Flyer.  The one bicycle I am most interested in is any Goold made in Brantfor
