Visit to CCM (Lozier) Factory

I live in Toronto and so I'm familiar with the Toronto Junction neighbourhood. I believed I had a general idea of where the CCM former Lozier factory (pre 1918) was probably located. After posting a picture of the factory I decided I would try to find its exact location. This proved to be a challenge. None of the factory illustrations showed the street address, just Toronto Junction. I started with searching for historic maps of Toronto Junction, with no luck. I found a reference to the factory being at  the north end, at St. Clair and Weston Rd.

Model M, and F?

I bought this brochure on Ebay for $5. I've never seen these Model M and F anywhere else. They have front fenders that do not continue forward of the fork crown, and there is no mention of CCM's many badge names. This contradicts what I've seen in other WWI era brochure and ad images.

End of the CCM Inch-Pitch Era?

I am trying to figure out the year in which CCM made the switch from inch-pitch sprockets and chains to half-inch-pitch sprockets and chains (not including the Flyer Professional Racer). I am pretty sure that this took place somewhere between 1908 and 1915. Also, when did CCM introduce the "Hercules" one-piece crank? I know that these were available by 1915. Any thoughts?

Early CCM Rims

For anyone looking for early CCM bicycles (pre 1920), it is very common to find "restored" bicycles that are painted in a glossy black with wooden rims that have been refinished with varnish. Although this is now a nice way to display wooden rims that are now a novelty, is this really an accurate restoration? For anyone who wants to go to the trouble of examining early catalogues and photographs, it may become apparant that CCM offered many types of wooden rims, that were usually painted in a distinctive colour scheme linked to various models.

CCM Hubs

I will try and post pictures of the different CCM hubs I have. The first is the armless New Hercules. Thanks To T-Mar I know they used this hub from early1900's to 1926.

CCM / Toronto Junction metal plates.

Any idea what these are from?  They're approximately 2 x 7"

Early CCM retail outlet

Thanks to Barry Slater for the following. Some interesting footage of early bicycle riders and a CCM retail outlet. Not sure where that was. Anyone?
