I've seen several CCM Mustangs and other CCM built musclebikes with different names that have 3 piece cranks, while others from the same years have 1 piece cranks. What's the deal? Some of them must have been made that way, I can't understand why anyone would want to change a 1 piece into a 3 piece. I've worked on bikes before and I don't think it would be an easy swap.
I picked up some CCM parts and a bike from a friend. The bike is not a straight top tube, has an early type crank, 4 pinstyle. I was wondering what year the straight top tube went away and when the curved top tube started. When did the 4 pin style crank stop being produced. The bike also has the Hercules hub with no brake arm.

Hello!
I have located the serial numbers on my CCM's.
One is 40271C, which according to the chart is a 1951 model.
The other is E185811.... which doesn't correspond. Does anyone know what year this may be?
Thanks!
PS - I will post pictures after this weekend - I will include some of my Uncle's collection that will be on display at the Essex County Steam and Gas Engine Show in McGregor, ON.
Just found the forum while looking for info on the ccm cheetah.I just found one and was curious what dates they were made and this one has a three speed shift on handle bar,not the shifter on frame I am used to seeing. Is this normal for some?Than ks,Glen
Good afternoon, I recently purchased this bicycle but I have yet to determine the company by the headbadge. The serial number on the frame reads, 20888T. If this is a CCM number then the bicycle dates to 1960. The S.A.
