1965 CCM Mark IV ; Tire size options.

I am about to restore a nice condition 65 Mark IV and need a new set of tires . The current ones are white wall 26 x 1 3/8 and will be difficult to source. Until I find them,  as a temp solution , i have 2 nice clean road tires  that are 26 x 1.5 .

Would you anticipate any issues installing a slightly wider tire ?

thx

CCM thimble??? Really??

Anyone one anything about this CCM thimble??????

Help identify?

Hey folks can anyone help me identify the model  and the year of this CCM o think os a Targa but i never had seen any with This logo on the frame it nfe a derailler Shimano RS on the rear and front and 10 speeds.

Help with identifying this ?

Just was given this seemingly old CCM.

A lady in her 50's said it was her grand fathers?  She was actually contemplating putting it in the garbage.

The rear  frame is bent, so I am not even sure it is salvageable.

Serial number has some fancy scribing , so it is either  4 V 7 4 0 7 or   4 N 7 4 0 7.

I will post a pic of it.

If someone can tell me the model and year and if the frame could potential be straightened.

Thx

Any suggestions for the restorative process

Hi , new to the vintage world.

Looking forward to getting my newly acquired 1965 Imperial Mark IV back on the road.

I have a few questions to ask if anybody is feeling patient with me.

1) Any tips on getting wheel bearings and headset back into shape? just a deep clean and regrease and tighten up?

2) Any tips on maintenance of the integrated 3 speed rear hub?

3) Should I try and keep the existing white brake and gear housings? do they clean up well or are they now too old and brittle to work with?

1935 Motorbike tire fit

Hi!

I'm about to buy new tire for my 1935 CCM Motorbike. The worned out tire are 700x38c (28 x 1-1/2) and I wonder if someone ever tried to fit 700x50c ( 28 x 2" )

From my aproximation ( me fudgin' around with a tape) it would be a TIGHT fit...

Ladies Imperial Mark IV : locating serial number

Hi

I recently was fortunate enough to pick up an old Ladies Mark IV from a local garage sale ($30) It needs work but I am sure it can be rejuvenated quite nicely.

I am trying to locate the serial number to find out when it was made, but for the life of me I cant find it. I have searched everywhere and can only find an X stamped on the bottom of the BB.

Canadian army use of CCM bikes

Some time back, John Williamson mentioned that during the Second World War, the Canadian military used some CCM bikes painted in Olive Drab, or some other military paint colour.  I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard of a surviving bike with this paint job.  These were certainly civilian bikes prior to 1944, and economy "War Grade" models towards the end of the war.  Any information would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.  --David Webb
