Recently received the following note from a fellow who, believe it or not, found this bike at the side of the road::
what do you do with a plain CCM Imperial Mark II that no one wants?
you build a reverse steering bike!
now it's a good breed of parts... wheels are off an Ompax MTB, rear hub is off a 1965 Schwinn Typhoon, seatpost, cut stem, front steering column, front headset, chain and fenders are off a 70's CCM. the saddle is from an Opus and the steering gears are 70's Vespa transmission gears. I might also replace the bars for late CCM tandem bars. :)
Just got this 53 ccm mens bike and between the pin stripes on the front and rear frnder is a stripe of gold tape, looks like it was put on professionally.
Was this put on at the factory? And is it avalable, should I have to replace it?
This is a morron and gold paint job.
Hey guys I'm new to this site and I just recently picked up 1941 CCM motorbike. There are obviously several things not original to the bike Including the paint job which kind of sucks. But I have managed to get all the red off of the maroon color and it doesn't look too bad I am currently looking for a head badge for this bike, Crank and chain ring, And stem and motor bike handlebars. As far as I can tell everything else is original unless any of you guys can pinpoint anything else that's not original on the bike for me.
Is Is this what is referred to as a CCM Mustang? I found this yesterday in a local barn. Serial number A 094684. I have been looking on the internet for serial number dates and have had no luck. I am considering restoring it, if it is worth it.
Any ideas out there as to vintage.

This is the results so far of my first attempt at restoration. I decided to make this 1945 dated one into the army bicycle that I wanted for my military displays, and sales. Still looking for a Dunlop rubber seat, but I may attempt to restore somehow the Dunlop that was on it. The paint used was the same McDonald / White of Windsor, mixture as used on our local Military Muster Jeeps and Universal carriers. I had to have both wheels respoked and straightened, thankyou Earl in Harrow, and David Webb for the valuable information on Army bicycles.
I picked up a 51 CCM roadster (I think that's the model) with original painted and pinstriped rims. The tires also looked like they might be original and would be in decent shape if they weren't cracked on the sides. They were 26 x 1 1/2 Dunlop Rangers. Anyway I thought I'd just change them out with another oldish set of tires that I have that are in much better shape. They are 26 X 1.75. I figured they should fit. There's lots of room in the fenders and frame. Imagine my surprise when they wouldn't come even close to getting on the rim.
If anyone out there has a CCM built chainless 1900 or so They where made with Massey Harris Cleveland Perfect Brantford head badges but the frames are all the same, If you are missing the gear covers get back to me. I am making a set for a CCM Massey Harris bike that is missing the gear covers. They are made in Fiberglass and when painted it would be very hard the tell the difference from original which if they are missing you will hunt a long time.to find.
