Welcome to Vintage CCM. Use this forum to introduce yourself to other forum members.
I have been collecting Canadian made vintage road bicycles for years and have a few tucked away. I publish a website, devoting much of the space to these lovely old Canadian bicycles. Not sure of the rules, however; if allowed, I will include a link or search opportunity to the site.
For now, have a look at the newest steed to enter The Old Shed - a 1939 CCM "Road Racer"...
Hi Everyone! I grew up in Ontario riding a 1972 Mustang and my first bike I bought with my own money was a 1979 Targa. We moved to BC in 1997. I have found the exact same year/models of the Mustang and Targa to have in my collection of mostly vintage Schwinns. I also recently aquired a minty 1967 Centennial Duomatic. I have read John's book cover to cover and was prompted to post about the Flyte in the classified. I'd love to have it.
Hey everyone,
I have what I believe is a 1940s rambler motorbike that I got at a yard sale in Seattle and I need the little threaded ring that holds the left crank on, if anyone has one or knows where I can get one please let me know! Thx
Nathaniel
In order to post in the Forum one must first register on the site. Although we don't hear from everyone on a regular basis we now have over 150 registered members here.
We also get numerous registration attempts by spammers. Automated emails designed to flood the market. Probably 20 - 30 a day. Each day I go through and delete them. I have on occasion inadvertently deleted a registration I shouldn't have. For this I apologize. If it's happened to you please re-register. We definitely want you to be a part of what's happening here.
I'm new from yesterday when I found this place. Since I like CCM stuff (at least the older) I thought I should join.
I collect mainly bicycles but I have other ccm items. I have about 10 CCM built bikes but my bicycle collection counts over 100. I have a 1939 Zenith, a 1949 CCM, 1970' Targa (10 speeds), a 1940's looped frame CCM, about 3 of the same but differently branded look a like CCM Rambler (24" wheels) to name a few. I also have my ever so reliable 1993 CCM Black Ice (first owner).
Just thought I would chime in I have a pile of Muscle bikes I started picking them up 20 or so years ago. I always loved my CCM Mustangs and will take my whoppings for destroying more the a few in my early days in the 60s and 70s. They were always easy to pick up in the garbage and I usually had 15 or 20 laying around as a kid (I never left a muscle bike in the trash on my way to or from school). We made choppers out of them we jumped cars with them we off road raced we ice rink raced with them we even used to jump them off docks into the lake with a rope tied to them to get them back.
All the best to everyone in 2012. May your finds be good ones and your missed opportunities be few and far apart.
Thanks so much for making Vintage CCM such a unique and inviting place. It would not be so without your presence.
Here's to a great new year,
John
for jumping on the Christmas bandwagon so early, but want to give folks ordering the CCM book as a gift a heads up so as to avoid having it get lost in the pre-Christmas rush.
Generally speaking, folks in Canada should allow 4 -5 days and those outside the country 8 - 10 days. Of course, that's speaking generally and who knows?
Hello everyone. I am a recent convert to vintage bicycles after purchasing two CCM frames recently. I will more than likely be asking alot of questions in the next little while so please bear with me. I will be taking pictures and posting them in the next few days, and would love some help identifying the year and make. Thanks.
