Spin Cycle

Received the following note from Roger at the Halifax Cycle Gallery:

I've got a Spin Cycle from Yarmouth Nova Scotia, basically a rebranded CCM.
I've rebuilt the wheels with new spokes only to find out that there is no
availability in 40-571, 26 x 1-1/2 tires. Do you have any idea where I might
find a set of replacement tires for this classic old bicycle.

Any ideas? Wayne?

Gibson Pedals

I am restoring a set of Gibsons for my Flyte and I bought NOS blocks for them. My problem is that I cant get those suckers in there. I have soaped them up, boiled them to soften them up which worked to soften but not good enough. Getting very frustrated at this point. Has anyone done this and if so, HOW?

Rob

Loaded!

Check out this load of vintage wheels I just bought! laugh

1940`s CCM Flyer track bike

I own this late 1940`s CCM Flyer track bike. I was told it was made right after the war.  I really need to find a longer stem for it.  Anyone else have a CCM Flyer ?? I would love to buy another or any other old track bike. The serial numbers don`t add up with the serial number charts. It has Reynolds 531frame ,  CCM skiptooth sprocket, Schwinn track hubs. Nice original paint.

1967 Imperial 700

Maybe its not quite a "classic" compared with some others on this site, but here's my first addition to the world of vintage CCM's. Its a gold 1967 Imperial 700 with 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub, found out for the trash in my neighbourhood. As can be seen by the pictures, its in great shape. I do have the front fender, it was just deached from the bike for some reason. It will be my restoration project for the winter, and hopefully ready to go in the spring!

CCM Galaxie Accessories

Hi there

I'm looking for help outfitting my 1970's Galaxie bicycle - in particular I'm looking for information on the type of light that may have been available for the bike.

I've read that Sturmey Archer had a 'dynamo' charger for a light on some ccm bikes but am unsure if it was meant for my bike.

Does anyone have any tips on lighting for a 1970s ccm galaxie?

Also - any other cool accessories that I should look into (ie. bell)?

Thanks,

John

CCM Continental

Here are a couple of shots of the Continental I picked up yesterday. Not gonna be pristine, but should clean up nicely. Got it at the Bicycle Works in Almonte following a call from a friend. Owner Bill Barrie takes in bikes as a donation and then gives any money made from their sale to Bicycles For Haiti.

Is it a CCM or what?

I have started to restore my dads old bike. He got it from his uncle in about 1937, and I was always told it was a CCM. However, the number stamped under the crank is 92158, and doesn't correspond to any CCM numbers I have seen. This bike looks just like a 1937 Redbird, has 28" x 1 1/2" wheels, and the CCM looking fenders. Could it be an off brand, built for Eatons etc., or even a military bike, as his uncle was in the RCAF? The serial number has me stumped, and I am not really familiar with bikes. Can anyone provide any leads or info?

Help identifying two frames.

Please help me identify these two frames.
