1971 CCM Grand Touring 3 Speed

Picked this guy up at the Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show. Never seen or heard of it before but I just had to have it. Needs some work but that ok. I have a set of 26x 1 3/8 red line tires that will look really sharp on this one. Just another oddball bike to add the CCM list I guess :)

Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show June 26, Brantford, Ontario

Information is at http://www.canadianvintagebicycleshow.com/

I havent been for a couple of years, but was really impressed when I went.  Saw an amazing shaft drive bike from 1908 that looked like it had been built a few years ago.  Lots of classic CCM's there too!  A great way to spend a day!

Anybody else going????

Great site!

Don Farmer

Just posted a cool video of CCM collector Don Farmer done by the Montreal Gazette. Check it out in the Video section.

Looking for information on a recent find

I found this last week (for only $40!!!),and having never actually seen/heard of CCM,began researching the brand on the. ANY information on it (eg: vintage, model, general info,I won't need to know "what's it worth",I'm not a bike flipper, but that would be cool too,LOL!).

A Question

The other day at a  Winnipeg stoplight waiting for the green light a bike pulled up next to me that made me do a double take, I only had seconds to look at it but it appeared to be a reproduction CCM ballooner, maybe a 10 year old bike, not sure. It had the CCM stamped chainring, really wide bars and a frame with I think a twin arch under the straight bar, clearly marked CCM. Was I dreaming at that stoplight? Did they really make this repro? Was it a huge run of these? I never saw one before and I'm always around bicycles!

bikes are gnar, ditch your car!

Howdy ...I am a vintage bicycle fan located in Vancouver BC and am stoked on made in Canada bicycles and skateboards, favorites include motocross type bicycles and classic ballooners made by CCM plus skateboards made by Bauer. Check out some of the bike collection here: http://www.skullskates.com/history/on-line-bicycle-museum/

I also run a skateboard company which has released limited production frame sets and bicycles based on classic 30s 40s 50s balloon style bikes, selling and buying tomorrow at the 10th annual vintage bike swap here in Vancouver....yes!

ccm onepiece crank

CCM Brantford Model 534

I acquired a CCM Brantford Model 534 a couple of years ago. I have done some work on it, replace the rear wheel with the proper wooden one, and almost have it on the road. Question to the group - does anyone know when this model was made? I know it is prior to 1918 as the Brantford Models 554-558 are shown in the 1918 CCM Accessories Catelog. Another collector suggest around 1905... Anyone have any info?
