I picked this up the other day, and from what I can tell it is a '39 road racer. It's pretty rough, but looks mostly original and was all there except for the headbadge, seat post bolt and chain. I think the stem may have been changed at some point, and maybe the rims. They are marked 28" Canadian Size on them but are wearing 27 x 1 1/4 tires. I put a chain, seat post bolt and pumped up the tires for a couple pictures. I've been looking for something similar for myself to ride ever since my Dad gave me Bobby Bentley's old bike and think thi
Hello all! I'm looking for information on removing a triplex crank, never done it and I don't want to break it. Can anyone enlighten me on how this process goes down. I appreciate all and every piece of information.
This question came up in my other recent post about my Sunshine Waterloo with CCM fenders. I noticed that although they appeared the same, the front fender was constructed differently than the rear. Photos of both appear below. The other photo is from the 1918 catalogue. So my question is, in what years did CCM switch their fender designs? In what year, shortly after 1918, did CCM stop using the skinny fenders and switch to the drop-side fenders? And during what time periods were the two different cream colour CCM fenders (from this Sunshine) used? Thanks in advance.
I bought this Sunshine Waterloo on the weekend. I really like the frame design and colour scheme, but it appears to have been heavily restored, possibly with many CCM parts. I think it is supposed to have the same wide, round fenders and wide, painted rims that my unrestored pale blue SW Ladies has (thread Sunshine Questions). The fenders are certainly CCM, but how about the rims? The front hub has no stampings, and I don't recognize the rear hub.
Hi, I believe this bicycle used to belong to my great grandfather. It is a little beat up with a dented seat stay, bent handlebars, missing head badge and a bunch of small dents around the head tube. It seems to have some features in common with some pre-1921 Clevelands I have seen pictures of. The rear hub is a CCM with a 1926 Patent stamp, the front hub, or at least the axle, is a Phillips. The pedals are also marked Phillips. The crank arms are marked CCM. The serial number is 907025.
Today i was lucky enough to acquire a 1937 ccm flyte from a gentleman named tom in grandbend. His father bought it new when he was 18 in 1937!. Tom rode it as a kid not knowing anything about the bike other then that it was his fathers and therfore old. He used the bike to launch of ramp when he was a kid, eneded up putting a crack in the down tube. Ive talked too some good guys on here about the bike already, wondering if anyone else had anything else to offer. Looks like i need the proper rims, and fenders. pics wont upload, hopfully john an work some magic.
I just purchased an old CCM bike and would like to tap all the experts out there as to what I have. In looking at the serial numbers listed on this forum, it is a 1938 (serial number 1B0099). However, there are some differences from what I see in the 1938 catalogue that is listed on this site. I believe the bicycle is pretty much original but you guys can tell me best. It has a C Crown 50 tooth sprocket. it as the CCM diamond badge, it has the 1926 rear hub, it has Gibson peddles. I believe the frame is a 22/20.
Rambler 500, sn J320801. getting ready for the powder coaters. While grinding away the blemishes on the Imperial 700, I decided I might as well get the dirty work out of the way on both. Great looking bikes. I think the snow will hit before I get to ride either of them this fall. Oh well, spring is on the way.

I have a 1940's Massey which a few of you helped to identify the year. I finally have time and a workshop to start the restoration but just looking for some input from those of you have restored bikes already.
The bike is solid but is quitey rusty everywhere. I don't intend on painting the frame or re-chroming anything The rims are really rusty so I'm not sure if I can clean them up enough. I'm just curious what your process is.
