I am working on the CCM Ranger and the stem and handlebars need to be either cleaned and rechromed, painted or replaced... I was wondering is people have had parts rechromed, and is it is worth the effort?
I picked up a CCM Ranger last week, I have been stripping it down, my research on the serial number suggests it is a 1968 model, it has 26" painted wheels, and looks like a smaller sized Rambler. The rear hub is a 1937 Patent coaster that I have stripped down and is in excellent condition, today I stripped the front hub down though and it is a Bayliss-Wiley made in England. I looked up their hubs and saw a lot of high flange front hubs, but this isn't a high flanged hub, it is loose bearings 10 per side....
My collection of ancient Canadian bicycles is growing with the addition of a 1905 Massey Harris. I am looking for a head badge and I am willing to pay good money for one.
it seems as though head badges were removed and collected after old bikes were considered out of date, so head badges must be out there!
If you have one that you want to sell please contact me. barkmadly@netspace.net.au

Hello all, I bought this sign recently and need some help. I don't speak French, but I believe at the top of the sign it says "Authorized Dealer" ? Also, at the bottom it says what appears to be " E. Coulembe" Does anyone know if this was a bicycle dealer or hockey equipment dealer, or both? I was also interested in knowing where this dealer was. I am assuming it was in Quebec somewhere? (duh!) I would greatly appreciate any help :)

A guy calls me and says "I`ve got a small box of old bike stuff you might be interested in" . When I get there he pulls out this stuff. Yep, that`s some old stuff alright! Some pretty interesting items, a couple of `em I have no idea on Anyone know what the black arm with the clamp on the end is? Or what the horseshoe shaped shims are?
Where I live in an outlying area of Winnipeg we have a local museum, being a railroad town its mostly train related. In the 15 years I've lived here I've always heard rumours about a collection of vintage bicycles in the basement of the museum. I've been to see the curator several times over the years wanting to document those bikes in the basement, he acknowledged they were there but the basement was strictly off limits to visitors.
This little beaut was in pretty rough shape when I got her. Sand blasted and stripped er down to the bearings, polished and re-greased everything, a little bondo on the fenders, new paint, gyes saddle, and custom leather grips. I know it's not a restoration but it looks the way I want and she's a pretty smooth ride too. Definitely turns some heads on campus.
