Flyte 3A851

What's left of 1937 Flyte serial # 3A851 was discovered in the loft of a garage after a house purchase in St. Catherines. It most definitely looks black, not a rusty/dirty Saphire Blue. I removed the pump clamp and it's still black underneath. Is there a chance CCM made Flytes in black in 1937 or 38? Could it have been a custom colour, or did the colour fade to black over 80 years? The cream fenders have a stripe down the middle. The forks are rusted chrome. I will be able to put wheels and handlebar on it and ride it as soon as it stops raining.

Just Scored this CCM Flyte!

Just picked this up today. Fella was about 20 minutes from my house!

I'll get more pictures soon.

An Inexpensive Wheel Truing Stand

Hi All!

I hope you all don't mind that i posted this in the Vintage CCM Bicycles Section, since thta seemed like the most appropriate forum section for tools. I also hope you don't mind that I posted it at all, but I wanted to place it here in case anyone would find a cheap-to-build truing stand helpful. I was getting kind of frustrated trying to straighten a badly wapred wheel on the bicycle, so I donated a couple of hours to building this tool. (Plus about 10 pencil and paper hours trying to figure out what I wanted....)

1H9884 serial number, which year is that?

Picked up a bike today with that serial number and it doesn't show in the lists.

1963? Imperial Mark II

This bike was on Kijiji with over 800 views but was not selling. The daughter of the owner said people were either no-shows or made offers of around $30. I thought I would help the woman out of her misery and pick up the bike. It's crazy that nobody bought it because it's in beautiful original condition and all I had to do to make it rideable was put air in the tires. It will look even better once I've cleaned up the rims and hubs. It had a 10-speed seat on it so I put on one that is at least the correct shape if not the correct colour.

Fork drilling for front brake

Hi,

Has anyone drilled a CCM front form to install a calliper brake?  I want to make a path racer. Originally I was thinking three speed but want two brakes. It will be single speed coaster with a front brake if possible. Thoughts?

Thanks, Daryl

1938 Camel Back

I picked up an old camel back today.

A Couple More Bikes From the Don Farmer Collection

Hi everyone,

Don says hi to all his friends on this site and asked me to post these pics for him. One bike is a CCM Flyer 51, while the other is a 1951 Club Racer with a flip-flop hub.

And that's Don in his living room that doubles as a bike shop (or is that a bike shop that doubles as a living room?!!).

Cheers!

1915 Mesinger Bicycle seat question

Hi,  I was wondering if anyone has a good pic of the type of Mesinger bike saddle used on CCM Flyte bikes by 1938 onwards.  The catalogue image shows a really longer spring saddle than examples that I have seen.  Thanks!  David
